I served my education apprenticeship from 1962 to 1969 at Nicolson Ave. Infant and Primary School, the teachers I remember them all starting with Miss Madigan, Miss Mildy, Mrs Marks, and the head mistress was Mrs Birrel, Miss Grosvenor, Miss Tucker, married name Mrs DE boo, Mr Martin, Mr Millikan, Mr Martin, Mr Schneider, and Mrs Foster head master Mr Favilla
They did a marvellous job, pity I don't read very well to this day but the system then puts todays to shame, the basics, math writing and spelling were taught to a far better standard than today, and yet I recently found a novel my grand mother read in grade 4 in about 1916, as a curriculum standard, I can't remember any books of that calibre.
